Chemspec Rx for Fringe is the cure for cotton fringe browning. It is an oxygen-releasing bleach for use on undyed cotton fringes of Oriental rugs and undyed white carpets. When used as directed, Rx for Fringe erases browning from undyed fibers. It whitens and brightens even the dingiest fibers. Chemspec Rx for Fringe has an odorless, biodegradable formula. Because this product is a bleach, it will reduce or remove colors, and is not recommended for use on dyed carpets or fabrics. Apply using a sprayer or by mixing into diluted carpet shampoo.

Pretest for colorfastness in an inconspicuous area.

For correction of browning on area rug fringes: Mix 2 - 1/2 teaspoons into 1 gal (3.8 L) of water. Add 1 oz (30mL) of liquid detergent to the solution. Apply with a brush to the fringes to make sure the solution does not get onto the rug body. Allow fringes to dry, then mist the area with Browning Treatment.

For correcting browning on UNDYED rugs: Mix 1 heaping tablespoon in 1 gal (3.8 L) of ready-to-use shampoo. Shampoo and extract carpet in normal manner, OR mix 1/2 scoop in 1 gal (3.8 L) of water and spray over the surface of the rug. Wait 5 minutes, then mist the area with Browning Treatment. Allow to dry.
